GMVS secretary Shankar Singh Rawat was honoured with Rashtriya Jan Sewa Award 2014. The award was given by Foundation for Accelerated Community Empowerment at a function organised in New Delhi. Television actor Praveen Kumar and former Member of Parliament BL Sharma jointly felicitated Rawat.
The award was given to Rawat for his exemplary work in the fields of education, health, natural resource management, micro finance, HIV and AIDS and women empowerment.
