Governing Board

Anil Kumar Mathur
The development journey of Gramin Mahila Vikas Sansthan (GMVS), Bubani, Ajmer, reflects the visionary leadership, social commitment, and dedication of its Chairman, Mr. Anil Kumar Mathur. Since the establishment of the organization, he has consistently guided its efforts toward creating positive and sustainable change in the lives of rural communities, particularly women, children, farmers, and other marginalized groups.
Starting from Ajmer district in Rajasthan, GMVS has expanded its work across diverse sectors including education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, natural resource management, livelihood promotion, and community development. Under Mr. Mathur’s leadership, the organization has successfully implemented various community-driven initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of rural populations.
Mr. Mathur firmly believes that true social development can only be achieved when women are provided with equal opportunities, quality education, accessible healthcare, and dignified livelihood options. Guided by this philosophy, he has encouraged the organization to adopt a community-based development approach that emphasizes local participation, self-reliance, and leadership development. His vision has led to the successful formation and strengthening of numerous Self-Help Groups (SHGs), women’s leadership programs, child rights campaigns, and livelihood enhancement initiatives.
Over the past three decades, GMVS has extended its outreach to multiple districts, panchayats, and hundreds of villages across Rajasthan, positively impacting the lives of lakhs of people directly and indirectly. The organization’s mission goes beyond implementing development projects; it focuses on building self-reliant, informed, and empowered communities capable of sustaining their own growth.
Mr. Mathur’s leadership style is rooted in transparency, social accountability, and strong human values. He firmly believes that community participation and the empowerment of local leadership are the most effective drivers of sustainable development. This philosophy has helped establish GMVS as a trusted and impactful organization in the field of rural development.
Even today, Mr. Anil Kumar Mathur remains committed to building a society where every woman is empowered, every child is educated, every family enjoys a life of dignity, and sustainable development is achieved through the responsible management and conservation of natural resources.
“Empowered Women, Educated Children, Self-Reliant Families, and Developed Villages – These are the Foundations of Sustainable Development.”

Shankar Singh Rawat
On behalf of Gramin Mahila Vikas Sansthan (GMVS), I extend a warm welcome to all of you.
For the past three decades, our organization has been continuously working to bring positive and sustainable change to the lives of rural communities, particularly women, children, youth, and farmers. We firmly believe that development is not limited to economic growth alone; it is equally connected to social justice, education, healthcare, environmental conservation, gender equality, and human dignity.
When we began this journey, our objective was to ensure that development opportunities reached those sections of society that had long remained marginalized and excluded from the mainstream. Today, it is a matter of great pride that through the efforts of GMVS, thousands of women have become self-reliant, children have gained access to better educational opportunities, rural families have strengthened their livelihoods, and communities have become actively engaged in environmental conservation initiatives.
Our experience has taught us that the true strength of any development process lies within the community itself. Therefore, GMVS follows a participatory development approach, where communities take ownership and lead their own development journey. Women’s empowerment, youth skill development, natural resource management, and social inclusion form the core pillars of our work.
Today, the world faces numerous challenges, including climate change, environmental degradation, social inequalities, and livelihood insecurity. In such circumstances, our responsibility becomes even greater to establish a balance between development and environmental sustainability, ensuring a secure, prosperous, and resilient future for generations to come.
I sincerely express my gratitude to all community members, partner organizations, government departments, development agencies, donors, and team members who have supported and trusted us throughout this journey. Their invaluable cooperation has made these achievements possible.
Let us work together to build a society where every woman is empowered, every child is educated, every family is healthy and self-reliant, and harmony exists between nature and human development.
Our Belief
“Sustainable development is possible only when communities themselves lead the process of change and every individual has the opportunity to live a life of dignity, equality, and respect.”
Our Commitment
“To promote inclusive and sustainable development through education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, environmental conservation, and active community participation.”
